'Dogs host Lobos for senior night

FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State women's basketball is set to host the New Mexico Lobos for the final home game of the season on Tuesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT streaming live on the Mountain West Network. Fresno State will also recognize its senior class and the athletic department will recognize head Coach Jaime White for surpassing 100 conference wins this season before the start of the game.

BULLDOG BONES

Fresno State is 7-10 going into their final conference game

Fresno State will recognize two seniors at the start of Tuesday's contest with the Lobos, Keely Brown and Deajanae Harvey

Bulldogs are looking for their eighth conference win of the season and 11th home win of the season

Fresno State shoots 39% from the field, 34% from the three and 72% from the foul line with a -0.24 scoring margin and -1.59 rebounding margin

Bulldogs continue to hold strong at No.1 for 3PFGM, a position the Bulldogs were able to hold for a majority of the season, still at No. 1 with 127 3PFGM (7.47 avg)

As a team deep from the three, 'Dogs saw nine conference games making six or more 3PFG and five conference games with 10 or more 3PFGM

70 is the lucky number, the Bulldogs are 11-3 when scoring 70 or more points

With the win a second against Utah State, Fresno State has already passed its win total and conference win total from a season ago. (11-12, 4-6 MW) *As of Feb. 3

Three Bulldogs have been tabbed with Mountain West honors so far this season, Taija Sta. Maria (3x, Freshman of the Week, Nov. 13, Dec. 11 & Feb. 12), Kylee Fox (Freshman of the Week, Nov. 11) and Mia Jacobs (Player of the Week, Dec. 26)

SENIOR NIGHT

Fresno State will be recognizing two seniors in the final home game of the season, Keely Brown and Deajanae Harvey.

Deajanae transferred to Fresno State from Palomar College and has spent one year in a Bulldog uniform. In that time, Deajanae has played in 26 games with two career starts and has recorded 224 points and 50 steals. Deajanae has a career high of 23 points at Boise State (2/24/24), 6 steals at CSU Bakersfield (11/18/23) and 7 rebounds vs Air Force (12/30/23). Deajanae will earn a bachelor's degree in sociology in the spring.

Keely Brown has spent three years in a Bulldog uniform. In that time, Keely has played in 77 games with 35 career starts and has recorded over 400 points and 180 rebounds. Keely has a career high of 19 points at UNLV (2/9/23), 5 blocks vs Rice (03/20/21). Keely will earn her bachelor's degree in Biology in the spring

LEADING THE PACK

Going into the final conference game two Bulldogs continue to lead the way, Mia Jacobs and Deajanae Harvey.

Jacobs goes into the week with 689 career-points (409 points as a Bulldog), 371 rebounds and 77 three-point field goals made, under her belt. Jacobs also stands tall within the conference as the seventh best shooter with 244 points in conference play (14.35 avg), and is tied for fourth best rebounder with 127 (7.47).

Harvey has worked her way to the top. With two career-starts, both in conference games and 26 games played this season. Harvey brings the defensive pressure for the Bulldogs as the top player in steals during conference play with 33 steals (1.94 avg). Harvey comes into the final week with 224 points. 54 rebounds and 50 steals as a Bulldog.

TOURNAMENT BOUND

The four-day Mountain West tournament begins on Sunday, March 9th with the first round tipping off at 2:30 p.m. PT. The Mountain West will release the official brackets on Tuesday, March 5, at the conclusion of regular-season play.

Fresno State is on the outside looking in, currently sitting in eighth place after a tough loss to Wyoming last Saturday afternoon in Laramie, 61-51. A win against New Mexico can clinch the Bulldogs the No. 8 seed for the opening round of the tournament.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP

Fresno State and New Mexico will meet for the 35th time in program history and the 15th time in Fresno. New Mexico leads the all-time meetings 18-16 after winning the last meeting in New Mexico, 84-77. Lobos' come into Fresno on a two-game win streak in the series.

Fresno State leads the home game series, 10-4 and saw their last home win on Feb. 23, 2022, 71-70. Bulldogs have won six of the last ten meetings with the Lobos.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

New Mexico is one of four Mountain West teams with ten or more conference wins and the second team to have 20 or more overall wins this season

New Mexico is coming off a loss against Nevada in a close contest that saw a buzzer beater and one from the Wolf Pack
