Anker and Saldivar earn MW Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State baseball's Jack Anker and Eddie Saldivar both received Mountain West Weekly honors after their performance in the Diamond 'Dogs' opening conference series win, the MW announced on Monday.

This marks Saldivar's first Player of the Week honor and Anker's second Pitcher of the Week honor.

EDDIE SALDIVAR – MOUNTAIN WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Fresno State's Eddie Salidvar proved to be a quiet constant for the Bulldogs, batting .500 on the week in the opening Mountain West series against the San Diego State Aztecs.

The Fresno native lived out his childhood dream of hitting a home run at Bob Bennett Stadium with a solo during Sunday's double-header walk-off win.

Saldivar went 4-8 combined in the Bulldogs' three games this week, with a double and three RBIs in addition to the six times he crossed the plate on his own, in addition to 8 total bases and four walks.

Saldivar also had a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage.

Saldivar was a brick wall at second base this week with several outstanding defensive plays over the Aztecs and is credited with 6 putouts and 4 assists for a 1.000 fielding percentage.

JACK ANKER – MOUNTAIN WEST PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Sunday starter Jack Anker earned his team-leading third win of the season in the Bulldogs' 11-1 walk-off win over San Diego State.

The Tulare Western High School grad tied his career-best 7.0 innings pitched and eight strikeouts, both personal records he just set last weekend against the Cal State Fullerton Titans.

Anker held the Aztecs scoreless through 6 innings and gave up only one run in his fourth-ever Bulldog start.

In addition, Anker held the Aztecs to 4 hits and a .160 average against him and did not walk a single batter in his 7-inning long outing.
