FULLERTON, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team took down the Titans of Cal State Fullerton
HOW IT HAPPENED
Reining Mountain West Pitcher of the Week Jack Anker set the tone for the defensive battle with a three-pitch strikeout against the lead-off Titan hitter. Anker held the Fullerton scoreless through four innings until the Titans knocked a double for their third hit of the game and a groundout would send the runner home.
Fresno State responded quickly in the top of the sixth with four walks to bring in a run to tie the game.
Tommy Hopfe singled up the middle in the top of the eighth to bring in the go-ahead run. Hopfe stepped in on the mound in the bottom of the ninth to end the game with a quick three-up, three down inning.
