FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State softball team lost a hard-fought battle to Oregon State on Saturday afternoon at Margie Wright Diamond, falling to the Beavers 3-2.
Fresno State (5-3) out-hit Oregon State (5-4) 12-8 in the contest. Four Bulldogs had multi-hit games, including Kennedy Bunker who tallied a season-high three hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams were locked in a scoreless battle through four innings. Neiss and the defense only allowed one Oregon State hit in the first four frames.
The Beavers' offense broke loose in the top of the fifth plating two runs on two hits to take the lead.
The Bulldogs had eight hits through five innings but were unable to score. Fresno State started the bottom of the sixth inning with a lead-off single from Sophia Medellin, extending her hitting streak to eight consecutive games. Rain began to fall as the teams headed into the seventh inning. The Beavers opened the top of the inning with back-to-back base hits. Gilmore countered with back-to-back strikeouts, but a hit-by-pitch would load the bases for Oregon State. The next batter plated the go-ahead run with an infield single to the shortstop.
