LIHUE, Hawai'i – Fresno State junior Joseph Llyod leads the John Burns Intercollegiate after the second round at the Ocean Course at Hokuala. Lloyd fired off a 5-under 67 with eight birdies on Friday, holding an overall tournament score of 8-under 136.
The Bulldogs faced rough conditions on the island with 20-30 mph winds. As a team, they shot 3-over during the second round to climb up five spots to a tie for ninth place.
Matthew Sutherland also shot under par in the second round, carding a 1-under 71. His five birdies helped move up to a tie for 15th at 2-under par through two rounds.
Ryan Firpo shot 2-over, Matthew Manganello shot 5-over and Mason Benbrook shot 7-over to round out the Bulldogs' lineup.
Fresno State will finish the tournament with the final 18 holes tomorrow with a 10:30 a.m. PT shotgun start.
