Bulldog Bones

Fresno State has its spring home opener on Friday.

Friday's meet is the first of three-straight at home.

The Bulldogs only win this season came in their last home meet, against SMU on Nov. 17.

Fresno State (unranked) won its first meet of the 2023-24 season in its fall finale, defeating then-No. 2 SMU 10-9 at home on Nov. 17.

Fresno State earned its first win over a Top 2 opponent since the Spring of 2021.

It was the fifth time in program history that the Bulldogs defeated a No. 1 or No. 2 team. The Bulldogs have another chance at an upset over the top-ranked team this Friday at TCU.

The Bulldogs had a handful of student-athletes earn monthly honors by the NCEA and the Big 12 in November as Sara Tuck was the flat rider of the month by both the NCEA and the Big 12. Shelby Robinette was the Big 12 reining rider of the month. Yasmin Roman was tabbed the NCEA standout student-athlete of the month.

Neither team is ranked in this week's NCEA Dual Discipline team rankings.

Admission and parking are free at the Student Horse Center.

Western 'Dogs

Fresno State has a 26-46-6 combined record in its western events this season.

Reining leads the way with 15 wins.

Horsemanship adds 11, and five ties.

In the reining, Shelby Robinette paces the 'Dogs with a 5-3 record with one MOP.

Senior Julianne Kelley has the only other reining MOP for the 'Dogs, and a 3-5 record.

Freshman Alana Becker has a 4-4 overall record in the reining.

In the horsemanship, Kendra Lee and Abby Goddard lead the group with three wins apiece.

Lee and Alex Krebs have the Bulldogs' two MOPs in the horsemanship.

Jumping Seat 'Dogs

Fresno State has a 29-46-3 combined record in its jumping seat events.

The fences have 15 wins while the 'Dogs add 14 in the flat.

Olivia Ferro leads the Bulldogs in the fences with a 6-2 record, her most wins in a single season throughout her Bulldog career.

All six of Ferro's wins were consecutive from Oct. 7 through Feb. 2.

She has one MOP with a 90-77 win over TCU.

Senior Sara Tuck set the program record for most career flat MOPs with the 10th of her career at SMU last time out.

This season, Tuck has a 7-1 record with four MOP honors.

Bridey Jones and Sage Lindvall saw their first collegiate action in Fresno State's Texas trip to open the spring.

Scouting Baylor

Baylor is 2-7 overall this season, and 1-3 in its Big 12 meets.

Baylor has lost four of its last five meets.

Baylor's wins have been in a raw score tiebreaker against Fresno State (Nov. 2) and an upset win over then-No. 5 Georgia (Jan. 27).

Baylor ranked as high as No. 7 this season, but did not appear in this week's NCEA team rankings.
