'Dogs wrap up the Almost Heaven LC Open in West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W. VA.- Fresno State swim team wraps up a four day prelim finals long course meet at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED

'Dogs would have a more steady swim this past weekend with each swimmer getting to focus on their specific races.

Aliz Kalmar inches closer to achieving an A cut for the world championships in Doha, with only two seconds separating her from the 200 breaststroke qualifying time and one second off the 100 breaststroke. Kalmar would claim wins in two of the three events swam.

Julia Matney and Allie Byrne had a successful first long course meet of the season. Matney on the edge of a U.S. Olympic trial cut in the 100 butterfly, off by 1.66 seconds, with a second place finish. Both Byrne and Matney would swim a time trial in the 50 butterfly. All three swimmers would achieve lifetime best in Morgantown.
