A shot by Jacobs early in the third would bring an offensive stumble to the Bulldogs' giving the Sun Devils a chance to build to an 11 point lead, the largest lead of the game. That lead would soon break mid-way through the third. As the Bulldogs would hold Arizona scoreless for three minutes edging the lead within two with less than a minute to go. With a 6-0 run, capped off by a layup in the paint by Jacobs. Arizona would use the last minute to quickly make up for lost points with their own 6-0 run to take an eight point lead with ten to go.

All in for the last ten minutes Jacobs opened with her fourth three-pointer. Fresno State played up in the last quarter killing another eight point lead by the Sun Devils to two with 3:31 left. A shooting foul and a three-pointer gave ASU a last second seven point lead. With two minutes to play the 'Dogs needed to bring everything to the court.

An and-one by ASU would put the 'Dogs in a tough spot to work for a win. But Jacobs would pull through launching a three to put the 'Dogs within two with 7.6 seconds left. Jaddan Simmons gave the final call of the game, giving ASU their last points from the foul line in the last six seconds.
