GREENWOOD, Ind. – Fresno State Assistant Athletics Director for Strategic Communications Savannah Stoeckle has been named to the 30 Under 30 Class of 2023 by the College Sports Communicators on Thursday. The honor was created by the association's Young Professionals Committee to recognize outstanding young professionals throughout the membership.
"It is such an honor to be named to the CSC 30 Under 30 class this year, creating another milestone so early in my career," Stoeckle said. "I am so thankful for everyone I have crossed paths with in my time at Fresno State, and those who have supported, mentored and influenced me in the industry throughout the years. This recognition wouldn't be possible without the opportunities I have been given, and for the trust instilled in me by our administration, external department staffs, coaches and student-athletes at Fresno State. I am grateful to get to represent my alma mater day-in and day-out. It truly makes a difference when you love what you do, who you do it with, and what you do it for. To every coach and student-athlete I have had the pleasure of working with...thank you for letting me tell your story."
Stoeckle is in her first year leading the department's strategic communications staff. She also serves as the primary contact for Fresno State's football, equestrian and water polo programs.
"Savannah's contributions to Fresno State Athletics are experienced daily by our student-athletes, coaches and fans," said Frank Pucher, Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Relations. "Her creativity and communication skills are only outshined by her dedication and commitment to Fresno State and our Valley. There is no one more deserving of this recognition than Savannah."
She began her career at Fresno State as a student assistant in 2014 during her freshman year. Upon graduation she became a full-time assistant in 2019. After two years as the football team's secondary contact, she was promoted to assistant director, and at the age of 25, became one of only a handful of females in the country to serve as a primary contact for football at a FBS institution, and the first in the Mountain West.
Stoeckle has since led the program's communications efforts during one the program's most successful three-year runs in its history. She drew upon those experiences last summer as she spoke on the "Visual Storytelling: Maximizing the potential of digital video in social media" panel at the CSC national convention.
Stoeckle, a native of nearby Kerman, earned her bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in sports marketing in 2019.
"The CSC 30 Under 30 class of 2023 is an outstanding representation of the tremendous young and diverse, strategic and creative talent we have in our organization at all levels of college sports," 2023-24 CSC President John Paquette said. "The 30 Under 30 is among the most popular member recognition programs CSC offers because it is special recognition by your peers. We are grateful to the Young Professionals Committee for its hard work organizing the program. Congratulations to all of our deserving winners."
