LAS VEGAS – For the first time in program history, the Fresno State volleyball team is headed to the Mountain West Volleyball Championship tournament at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nev.

The five-seeded Bulldogs will kick off post-season play on Wednesday with the opening match of the tournament against #4 Boise State at 1 p.m. PT on Wednesday.

TOURNEY TIME

The Mountain West Volleyball Championship will be hosted at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nev., and is set to start on November 22.

Six MW teams earned spots in the tournament and are listed in seeding order: Utah State, Colorado State, UNLV, Boise State, Fresno State, New Mexico.

The top two teams earn a first-round bye while #4 Boise State and #5 Fresno State will face off at 1 p.m. PT and #3 UNLV will challenge #6 New Mexico at 4 p.m. PT.

STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM

At the start of the season, Fresno State was selected to be last in the conference in the Mountain West Preseason Coaches poll.

The Bulldogs received only 15 votes, placing them at 13 points below second to last pick.

Fresno State flipped the script, went 10-8 in conference play, and earned a spot in the Mountain West Championship tournament.

RACE FOR GRACE

Graduate student Grace Doyle is at the tail-end of her career at Fresno State after five seasons as a Bulldog.

Doyle has already broken two program records: 388 career block assists & 474 total blocks.

Doyle closed her final regular season just three kills shy of 1,000 career kills, and with a spot in the MW Championship tournament, she can pass that milestone.

FRAGA FOR PRESIDENT

Freshman Dionii Fraga has taken on the role of the starting libero and has been in the lineup for every set this season.

Fraga has led the conference all season long in digs, wrapping the regular season up with 491.

Fraga set a new program record for digs from a freshman and is just shy of 500 digs on the season.
