Entering Week 9, Fresno State has the best win-loss record among FBS programs in the State of California including a pair of Top 25 teams in UCLA and USC.
The Bulldogs are headed to a bowl game for the third-straight season. It's the first time since the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons that Fresno State will appear in a bowl game in three-straight seasons.
Fresno State will not travel outside of the state of California for the remainder of the season having three home games and travel trips to San Jose State and San Diego State in the remaining weeks of the regular season.
Fresno State saw its winning streak come to an end following its 24-19 loss at Wyoming (Oct. 7). The Bulldogs had won 14 games in-a-row, the second-longest winning streak in program history.
Fresno State has had two games end on a game-winning interception in favor of the 'Dogs this season as LB Levelle Bailey had the game-winning grab against Eastern Washington (Sept. 9) and NKL Morice Norris Jr. called game at Utah State (Oct.13)
WR Jalen Moss was named to the midseason watch list for FWAA Freshman All-American honors. Moss is the first Bulldog wideout to be recognized by the FWAA with all-american expectations since Davante Adams in 2012.
QB Mikey Keene was a midseason addition to the Manning Award watch list, recognizing the top college quarterback.
Fresno State has RB Malik Sherrod back in full health after getting tweaked in the season opener at Purdue (Sept. 2) and seeing minimal playing time in the next few games.
Since opening Mountain West play on Sept. 30, Sherrod has had two 100-yard rushing games. He is averaging 100.67 yards rushing per game in MW games. He is one of three players in the conference to be averaging over 100 yards rushing per game in conference play. He is averaging 15.6 carries per game in that three-game window.
Fresno State Athletics announced on Oct. 19 that it will retire Bulldog Baseball's #29 jersey in honor of former Diamond 'Dog and current MLB superstar Aaron Judge, as well as the #44 jersey of legendary former head coach Mike Batesole this fall.
