FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno State heads into its final two-match week of the season, and the Bulldogs will split it up with their two opponents from Colorado Springs, Colo. The 'Dogs will first head east of the Rockies to face Air Force on Thursday before returning home to host Colorado College on Sunday afternoon.
With the season winding down, seven teams, including the Bulldogs, have between 6-9 points as they're all fighting for the final spots in the Mountain West tournament.
FINAL ROAD TRIP
With Thursday's trip to Colorado, it will mark Fresno State's final trip of the regular season. The Bulldogs are 1-4-3 away from home this year
CONFERENCE PLAY
Until last season, Fresno State has won at least five matches in MW play dating back to 2016. Four of those five seasons resulted in a trip to the Mountain West tournament.
In two of those seasons, the Bulldogs had a point or less after the first week of conference play.
With three matches remaining, the Bulldogs are just three points out of the sixth spot for the tournament.
TAKE TWO
When Fresno State bags two goals this year, it's a win. While it's only happened twice, both games have resulted in wins
Most recently, Fresno State scored two second-half goals in its win last time out against Wyoming. Kaelyn Miller scored her first of the season while Ciara Wilson tacked on some insurance with her second.
DRAWING POINTS
Fresno State has seen a lot of draws this season. With five matches remaining, the Bulldogs have already set the program record for draws in a season with six. Their three in conference play, with seven games remaining, has already matched the program's most in a conference season (2004, 2018).
With two draws last week in Nevada, the Bulldogs have drawn their last three matches which is the longest stretch of consecutive draws in program history.
