QUICK LOOK

For the second week in a row, Fresno State finds itself among the Top 25 teams in the country entering Week 6 at No. 24 in both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll.

Fresno State still holds on to the second-longest active winning streak in the FBS, winning its 14th-straight game last Saturday against Nevada.

14-straight wins is nice, but the 2023 team is only responsible for five of those. Fresno State enters this week's contest with its first 5-0 start to a season since 2013.

The Bulldogs' offense has seen 40-straight drives without a three-and-out with its last coming in the fourth quarter of the Sept. 9 Eastern Washington game.

Fresno State kept another streak alive last weekend, scoring in all four quarters of the game. The Bulldogs extended their streak to scoring in 25 consecutive quarters, dating back to the fourth quarter of the MW Championship Game on Dec. 2, 2022.

Fresno State has an all-time record of 54-33 in its Mountain West games. As head coach, Tedford is 24-9 in MW games.

In three of Fresno State's first five games (Purdue, Arizona State, and Kent State), the Bulldogs have had 10 different receivers with pass targets.

Fresno State was finally able to get to the quarterback against Nevada (Sept. 30). The Bulldogs had 7.0 sacks against the Pack after only having seven total in the four games prior.

With seven sacks against Nevada, Fresno State had its most sacks in a game since 2013.

CB Carlton Johnson has four interceptions in five games this season to lead the FBS. Three of the four came in one game as he picked off three different Arizona State QBs on Sept. 16th.

His three interceptions in the game tied the program and MW record for most picks by a player in a game.

Sophomore kicker Dylan Lynch is the first Bulldog kicker to have two FGs of 50+ yards in a single season since Kevin Goessling in 2010.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP

Fresno State leads the all-time series 9-5. Saturday will be the 15th meeting between the two programs.

All but one of the previous 14 meetings between the two teams have come as conference opponents with six coming as members of the WAC (1992-97) and seven in the Mountain West (2012-14, 2017-18, 2021-22).

The recent games between Fresno State and Wyoming have been relatively low-scoring games with the Bulldogs shutting out Wyoming in the last two contests.

Fresno State has only allowed 10 points to Wyoming in the last four games combined (2017, 2018, 2021, 2022).

Saturday's game will be the fourth time since 2014 that Fresno State will have a game broadcast on the FOX network. It is the first time for the 'Dogs against a Mountain West opponent in the regular season with the other two both being against USC (2014, 2022).

The 2022 MW Championship game was a FOX broadcast.
