FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Fresno State women's golf team finished the opening rounds of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in third place after carding a 6-under par 570.
Freshman Sophia Yi-Ju Chen led the Bulldogs for the second consecutive tournament, tied for eighth place after recording a season-low 6-under 138 through 36 holes. Chen chalked a season-low round score in the first round, carding a 67 with six birdies.
Sophomore Katelyn Lehigh was second for the Bulldogs, totaling a 3-under 141 to finish the day tied for 12th place.
Fresno State will tee off tomorrow at 8 a.m. PT, paired with tournament leader Colorado State and second-place Colorado.
NOTES
Fresno State's score of 281 in the first round is the second-lowest round score this season.
