FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno State will head to Pacific on Thursday for its final nonconference match of the season. It will be the Bulldogs' seventh game in the Central Valley since the start of the season.

Following Thursday's match, Fresno State will return home to open Mountain West play the following week against San Diego State.

STAYING LOCAL

After playing its first five matches of the season in the Central Valley, Fresno State left the area last week, albeit briefly, to play two games in Riverside. The Bulldogs return to the Valley this week traveling up to Stockton on Thursday.

With two home matches next week, Fresno State will play seven of its first nine matches within the Central Valley, something the Bulldogs have done just once in their history (2000).

LEADING THE SCORING COLUMN

Against a Central Valley opponent, it was of course a Central Valley native that produced. Fresno native and senior forward Megan Galvan produced not only the match's opening goal at CSU Bakersfield, but also assisted on the winner. With the match's opening goal at Cal Baptist, Galvan leads the team with five points.

Her three points against CSU Bakersfield are the most in a game in her career.

SETTING UP AT THE STICK

Like a season ago, Fresno State again ranks as one of the top teams in the Mountain West in earning corner kicks. The Bulldogs currently rank third in the league, earning 5.86 per match.

KEEPING OPPONENTS AT BAY

Through seven games, Fresno State holds the fourth-lowest goals against average in the Mountain West at 1.14 per game. With Valentina Vivas and Kaydence Cortez-Garcia splitting time in goal. Out of a total 630 minutes, all four of the Bulldogs' starting defenders have played at least 580 minutes.

GETTING HER FIRST (AS A 'DOG)

On Sept. 7 at UC Riverside, Adriana Maldonado scored her first goal as a Bulldog, tying the game in the 39th minute. Fresno State went on to end the match with a 1-1 draw.

In her second year with the 'Dogs, it was the second goal of her career after scoring once while with Nebraska.
