PROVO, Utah — Behind her third consecutive round in the 60s, Katelyn Lehigh captured the 19th individual medalist honor in Fresno State program history, winning the Timpangos Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday. The sophomore finished the tournament with an overall score of 15-under par 201, setting a new program record for the lowest three-round total.
Fresno State finished third as a team after carding 12-under par 852, tying the program record for lowest three-round total.
Lehigh continued to dominate the field, shooting a 3-under par 69 in Round 3 with four birdies to solidify a first place finish. Jinyu Wu recorded a seventh-place finish in her first tournament as a Bulldog, scoring a 73 on day three for a 7-under 209 total. Wu's score ties for the program's fourth-lowest three-round total.
NOTES
Katelyn Lehigh earned the program's 19th individual tournament win. The last came on March 22, 2022 by Jessica Hall at the Fresno State Classic.
Lehigh's 15-under par 201 set the program's 54-hole record. It was four strokes better than 11-under par 205 from Jennifer Shipley (May 14, 2007 - UNLV Spring Rebel Invite) and Brigitte Thibault (Oct. 23, 2019 - Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown).
Lehigh's 7-under 65 in Round 2 is the second-lowest 18-hole score in program history.
Lehigh's 5-under 67 in Round tied for the seventh-lowest round in program history.
With a 7-under 209, Jinyu Wu tied the program's fifth-lowest 54-hole score in program history.
Fresno State's 12-under par 852 tied the program record for the lowest 54-hole score in program history, matching the mark which was set on Oct. 27, 2016 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
The Bulldogs Round 1 score of 9-under par 279 tied the program's lowest 18-hole score.
The 15-under through the first 36 holes of the tournament was the lowest two-round total in program history by 10 strokes.
Fresno State tied the program record for the lowest score in a 54-hole tournament with a 12-under par 852, matching the score set on Oct. 27, 2016 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
