Jittakoat and Magrini ranked No. 23 doubles team

TEMPE, Ariz.- Fresno State's Yinglak Jittakoat (Pang) and Matilde Magrini will start the 2023-24 season ranked No. 23 nationally in the 2023 ITA Division I Women's National Preseason Doubles Rankings, sponsored by Tennis Point, the ITA announced Tuesday.

Jittakoat and Magrini are in the Top 60 doubles ranking, this is the first ITA preseason honor for the doubles pair.

The doubles duo saw earlier ITA recognition at the end of the 2022-23 campaign with a No. 3 doubles ranking in the Northwest region.

Jittakoat and Magrini are the strength of a rising tennis program, with a doubles record of 17-7 overall, 8-2 at No.1 doubles in 2023. The pair is looking to have a strong start to the season, after finishing on a high note with a NCAA doubles debut, through an automatic bid as the top-ranked doubles pair in the Mountain West.

They were the 10th pair in program history to qualify for the NCAA doubles tournament last season.

The No. 23 ranking is the highest preseason ranking for a Fresno State doubles team since Sept. 4, 2009 when Renata Kucerkova and Anastasia Petukhova were ranked No. 1.

The No. 23 ranking overall is the highest for a Bulldog doubles team at any point since the 2016 spring season when sisters Mayar and Rana Sherif Ahmed reached a high of No. 18. The pair finished the season No. 24 after reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship.
