FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State Director of Athletics, Terry Tumey, has announced the hiring of Tyler Mariucci as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development.
In his role, Mariucci will serve on the athletics department senior leadership team and will oversee all athletics fundraising efforts, including the Elevate campaign, major gifts, and the daily operations of the Bulldog Foundation. The position will also serve as the primary liaison to the Bulldog Foundation Board of Directors.

"He has tremendous experience in major gift fundraising and his ability to lead our Bulldog Foundation staff and foster meaningful relationships throughout our Valley will help us to further advance the Elevate Campaign."
Mariucci got his start in intercollegiate athletics at Fresno State and helped complete the Meyers Family Sports Medicine Center, growth of Club Red and the Green V Society, and the installment of artificial turf in Valley Children's Stadium.

Prior to returning to Fresno State, Mariucci most recently served as Deputy Athletic Director at California State University, Northridge after serving as Director of Athletics at California Baptist University. As Deputy Athletic Director – Chief Revenue Officer at CSUN, Mariucci oversaw all external and revenue generating units while representing the AD in his absence.
During Mariucci's time at California Baptist University, he guided the athletic department through a successful transition to full NCAA Division I membership in August of 2022. Mariucci made an indelible impact as the athletics department eclipsed $2 million in fundraising for the first time during the 2022-23 fiscal year – the highest total in program history. The Lancer Athletics Association, the fundraising arm of the athletics department, also recorded unprecedented growth. CBU had a 41 percent increase in total donors from the previous season, and new regular season ticket revenue records were established for all ticketed sports. Mariucci also secured one of the largest pouring rights sponsorships for a D-I mid-major institution with Pepsi in 2022.
Mariucci also announced a $20 million Master Facilities Plan that included among other capital projects the construction of the brand new CBU Soccer Stadium which opened in August 2022.
Prior to joining CBU, Mariucci was a member of the San Diego State's athletic director's senior staff as the Associate Athletics Director for Development and Executive Director of the Aztec Club. During the 2019-20 fiscal year, the Aztec club set a national standard by setting all-time school records of $33.6 million in pledges, commitments, and total donors while helping lead the single largest capital campaign in athletics history: The $100 million Campaign for Aztec Stadium.
Before his tenure at SDSU, he served as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development at the University of San Diego. The university completed a $300 million campus-wide campaign, the largest comprehensive campaign in university history. As a member of the athletic director's executive team, Tyler was the sport supervisor for football and men's golf and had a significant role in the formation of the USD athletics' new strategic plan: "Winning in the Classroom, Winning on the Playing Field and Winning in the Community."
While at the University of Maryland, Mariucci was a member of the athletic director's management team as the Associate Athletic Director for Development and Sport Supervision, which successfully navigated the university's transition into the Big Ten Conference from the Atlantic Coast Conference. During the first two years as a Big Ten member, Maryland won the most Big Ten championships and broke ground on a $150+ million football facility. Additionally, Mariucci was a sports supervisor for several teams, including women's basketball, wrestling, and field hockey, among others that produced six conference championships, four NCAA tournament appearances, and 29 Academic All-Americans.
Mariucci started his collegiate career with stops as the assistant athletic director for development at the University of Memphis and director of major gifts at Fresno State.
A former Division I FCS football student-athlete at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Mariucci graduated with a degree in kinesiology before receiving his M.A. in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport management from San Jose State. He also graduated from the Sports Management Institute held at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Georgia and was the peer-selected class commencement speaker. Tyler and his wife Jennifer (a Fresno State alumna) have three children and reside in Fresno.
