AUSTIN, Texas – Making her first appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Jordyn Bryant finished 18th in the discus on Saturday at Mike A. Meyers Stadium. The Bulldog's top mark of 52.25/171-5 came on her second attempt.
Throwing in flight one, Bryant was in ninth place with 12 throwers still to go. She was passed nine times in flight two, a group which featured 10 athletes who ranked ahead of the Bulldog going into the meet.
Bryant is the fourth Bulldog to qualify for the NCAA Women's Championships in the discus in the last 25 years joining Lacy Barnes, Kayla Hopkins and Cierra Jackson. Like Jackson in 2022, Bryant also earned honorable mention All-America by qualifying for the championship meet this year.
A transfer into the program last fall, the Oakland, California native has one year of eligibility remaining.
