FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State senior Harriet Lynch will extend her Bulldog career into May after receiving an at-large individual bid from the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee on Wednesday. Lynch was selected to the Pullman Regional which will be played May 8-10 at Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
In 11 tournaments this year, Lynch has a 73.27 scoring average. The senior from Essex, England wrapped up last week's Mountain West Championship with a third-place finish, the highest finish of her career at the conference tournament.
Lynch tied for the most Top 5 finishes in the MW this year with four, earning a runner-up, two thirds and a fourth. Three of those four results came during the spring. She finished in the Top 15 in seven of 11 tournaments.
Lynch's selection marks the ninth time Fresno State has been represented by an individual in postseason play. She is the seventh Bulldog to earn a selection as an individual and first to do it under second-year head coach Lisa Ferrero.
A total of 396 student-athletes will compete at six regional sites. Each site includes 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional will advance to play in the national championships to be contested May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
