COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State's Jordyn Bryant was named Mountain West Women's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. It is the second consecutive week that a Bulldog thrower has earned the honor.
Already holding what would have been a winning mark heading into the discus finals at the West Coast Relays on Saturday, the Oakland, Calif. native twice bettered her mark. On her final attempt she recorded a toss of 55.42m/181-10. The junior's mark moved her up to No. 4 on Fresno State's all-time list. It currently ranks No. 2 this season in the MW and No. 18 in the NCAA.
Earlier in the day, Bryant finished runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 14.87m/48-9.5. The previous day, she placed eighth in the hammer with a mark of 47.48m/156-9, the first time she had thrown it in competition.
