SAN DIEGO – The Aztec Invitational began on Thursday with three of Fresno State's multis in competition. With a pair of personal bests, Kaja Bins sits fourth in the heptathlon with 2,844 points.
Bins started her day with a 15.54 in the 100-meter hurdles. The senior moved up the leaderboard with the third-best shot put (11.79m/38-8.25) in the competition. After starting her day with a PR, Bins concluded the day with her second, clocking a time of 26.71 in the 200 meters.
Kaitlynn Perez is just over 100 points back of her teammate in eighth with 2,739 points. Perez scored the third-best mark in the high jump (1.62m/5-3.75) and fourth-best mark in the shot put (11.56m/37-11.25).
In the decathlon, Garrett Ostrinski is second in a three-man field with 3,520 points. The junior landed a personal best of 12.92m/42-4.75 in the shot put.
The decathlon and heptathlon continue on Friday.
