Lloyd tied atop leaderboard after Round 1 in Oregon

BANDON, Ore. – After a tough opening round at the Bandon Dunes Championship, Fresno State's Joseph Lloyd finds himself tied atop the leaderboard at 2-under par. The sophomore was just one of four in the field of 112 to post an opening score under par.

Lloyd played steady throughout the round, taking just one bogey on the day. It was tied for the least bogeys in the field along with co-leader 28th-ranked Owen Avrit of Oregon.

Lloyd had his lone bogey come on his opening hole, No. 12. He responded with back-to-back birdies on No. 14 and 15 and added his third of the day at No. 7.

Matthew Sutherland sits in a tie for 16th. The junior was 3-over par through his first seven, but with four birdies in his final 11 holes, shot even par the rest of the way to turn in a 75.
