'Dogs knock off Golden Eagles, 15-9

FRESNO, Calif. - Getting goals from 10 different Bulldogs, the No. 8 Fresno State water polo team topped Concordia, 15-9 on Saturday afternoon at the Fresno State Aquatics Center.

Winning its sixth straight game, Fresno State (10-7, 3-0 GCC) jumped out to a 10-3 halftime lead and did not look back on their way to their fourth win at home this season.

In addition to Ochoa, nine other 'Dogs recorded goals with Hailey Andress, Daphne Guevremont and Elisa Grim adding a pair apiece.

In goal, Paula Nieto Jasny notched the win for the 'Dogs playing 24 minutes making seven saves with Abigayle Armstrong seeing time in the net in the other eight minutes adding four stops.

How It Happened

With the teams trading goals in the early going, the game was tied at three apiece through the opening five minutes of action. The 'Dogs closed out the quarter with goals from Grim, Andress and Jillian Schultz for a 6-3 lead through one quarter.

Four more goals for the 'Dogs in the second quarter pushed their lead to seven and a goal by Kelsey McKenney with 2:31 to play in the fourth quarter gave the 'Dogs their largest lead of the game at eight leading 15-7 with two final goals by Concordia to close out the scoring.

The 'Dogs remain at home next week to host Azusa Pacific (12-7, 1-1 GCC) on Saturday at 1 p.m. PT.
