The Diamond 'Dogs are coming off winning three of four contests at home against Nebraska Omaha last weekend.

The 'Dogs won their 15th straight home opener on Thursday with a 2-1 win over the Mavericks.

Due to rain in the forecast on Tuesday, the 'Dogs and Dons shifted their contest to Wednesday and it will be the first of five home midweek contests this season joining Pacific, Cal Poly, Long Beach State and Sacramento State.

Fresno State is 81-22 all-time against San Francisco and has a three-game winning streak at home over the Dons (2018, 2019, 2022).

The 'Dogs lead the MW and rank 21st nationally in ERA (2.86) while checking in second in the conference in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.91).

Preseason All-MW selection Ixan Henderson tossed seven scoreless innings on Thursday limiting Nebraska Omaha to three hits, no walks and struck out five.

Offensively, Grady Morgan leads the 'Dogs from the plate hitting .320 with a pair of doubles adding two RBI and two runs scored.

A look at the San Francisco Dons

San Francisco is off to a 3-1 start to the season after winning three of four games on opening weekend over Utah at home.

The Dons had their weekend series at CSUN canceled due to weather as it will be USF's road opener in Fresno.

USF is hitting .299 as a team to rank second in the WCC and 61st nationally. The Dons are averaging 5.2 runs per game and allowed only three runs over their last three games against the Utes.

On the mound, the Dons have a team ERA of 3.50 and have a 2.13 strikeout-to-walk ratio with 32 strikeouts and 15 walks.

Senior left-hander Weston Lombard will get the start for the Dons as the Minnesota native enters with a 2.25 ERA in four innings of work striking out a pair and holding opponents to a .231 average.

Henderson with strong start

The junior southpaw is coming off a strong start on Thursday matching his career high with seven innings limiting Nebraska Omaha to three hits, no runs or walks and struck out five.

Arreola off to a stellar start

In three relief appearances, the redshirt freshman from San Diego has tossed six scoreless innings allowing one hit, struck out five and held opponents to a .056 average.

New 'Dogs in action

The Bulldogs welcome 18 newcomers to the team this season with seven transfers and 11 freshmen set to make their debuts at Fresno State.

Ten Bulldogs have made their debuts so far this season in pitchers Jack Anker (Tulare Western), Jaykob Acosta (CSU Bakersfield, Bryce Armstrong (Washington) & Aidan Cremarosa (Burbank), catcher Matt Gonsalves (San Ramon), outfielders Michael McKernan (College of the Sequoias) & Grady Morgan (Butte JC), infielders Murf Gray (Madera) and Jadan Sheppard (Pleasanton) and designated hitter Sammy Augustine (Modesto).
