COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State's Matthew Manganello earned the first Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Week honor of the spring. It is his second straight honor from the conference after earning the final Golfer of the Month award in the fall.
Manganello carded a new tournament low of 13-under par 203 last week at the John Burns Intercollegiate at the Ocean Course at Hokuala. The junior finished ahead of nine of the 12 Top-100 players in the field, and finished tied for sixth overall.
The Bulldog turned in a career-low 7-under par 65 in the final round, knocking in two birdies and two eagles in his final six holes. The 65 is tied for the 11th-lowest round in program history, two strokes back of the record. The 7-under is tied for the seventh-lowest round versus par in program history.
Manganello's 203 is the seventh-best 54-hole tournament score in program history, four strokes back of the record. His 13-under is tied for the fifth-lowest 54-hole tournament score versus par in program history.
