LIHUE, Kaua'i – Led by three players in the Top 22, the Fresno State men's golf team sits in seventh place at 8-under par midway through the second round at the John Burns Intercollegiate. Originally scheduled to play 18 holes Thursday, Friday and Saturday, teams decided to start the second round on Thursday with rain in the forecast the next two days.
Following a pair of strong results to close the fall, Matthew Manganello is leading the Bulldogs at 6-under par through 28 holes. The junior is tied for 11th, five shots back of the lead. He opened the day with a bogey-free 68 in the opening round.
Joseph Lloyd and Matthew Sutherland are both tied for 22nd. The two sit at 3-under par through 29 holes. Lloyd carded a 71 in the first round while Sutherland shot a 72. Sutherland is 3-under through 11 holes in the second round.
The second round will resume at 10:30 a.m. PT.
