LOS ANGELES – Coming off back-to-back Golden Coast Conference regular season and tournament championships, the Fresno State water polo team was selected second in the 2023 preseason GCC coaches' poll, voted on by the league's eight head coaches. The 'Dogs earned a pair of first place votes and 41 total points in the poll.
Loyola Marymount was selected the preseason GCC favorite with the poll rounded out by Pacific, San Diego State, Azusa Pacific, California Baptist, Santa Clara and Concordia following the 'Dogs.
The Bulldogs check in at No. 8 in the CWPA preseason rankings released on Wednesday and are the highest ranked GCC team.
Fresno State will begin GCC play on March 3 at California Baptist. The 'Dogs host GCC preseason favorite Loyola Marymount on April 1 at the Aquatics Center.
