COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Coming off her second career double-double, Fresno State's Yanina Todorova was named Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. It is the first honor of her career.
In Saturday's win against Utah Valley, the point guard led the Bulldogs with game-highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double in the last month. The 11 rebounds matched her career high.
Shooting 6-of-12 from the field, all 14 of Todorova's points came in the first 30 minutes of the game as she helped give Fresno State an 11-point lead heading in the fourth quarter. The 14 points was her team-leading seventh double-figure scoring game of the year as she ranks eighth in the MW in scoring at 12.6 points per game.
The native of Teliko Tarnova, Bulgaria is the first Bulldog to be named conference player of the week this season.
