IRVING, Texas - Fresno State senior jumping seat rider Ana Bertozzi has been named the Big 12 Co-Fences Rider of the Month, the conference office announced on Wednesday. This announcement marks the second rider of the month honor for Bertozzi by the Big 12, earning the September Flat Rider of the Month honor earlier this season.
This honor is her second Big 12 Fences Rider of the Month recognition, and the first since her freshman campaign in 2019-20.
Bertozzi finished the month 3-1 and did not score lower than 80 in any of the four rides. She finished 2-1 against Big 12 riders and earned her first Fences MOP of the season against No. 8 Baylor. The senior also scored 85, a season-high, against then-No. 2 Baylor.
Bertozzi shares the recognition with Baylor's Lauren Reid. Reid (Co-Fences) and Dominika Silvestri (Co-Flat) each shared monthly honors with Bertozzi (Co-Fences) and TCU's Ashleigh Scully (Co-Flat). JoJo Roberson (Oklahoma State) earned Horsemanship Rider of the Month while Lannie-Jo Lisac (TCU) collected the Reigning Rider of the Month.
