BULLDOG BONES

With its win at UNLV last weekend, Fresno State has extended its winning streak to five-straight games. Fresno State's last loss was on Oct. 8 at Boise State. The five game winning streak is the longest for the Bulldogs since the 2018 season when Coach Tedford led the team to a 12-2 season with a Mountain West championship and Las Vegas Bowl win.

Fresno State's fifth-straight win last week meant that the team is now bowl eligible. Fresno State is eligible for a postseason bowl game for the second time in as many seasons, marking the first time since 2017 and 2018 that Fresno State has made a bowl game in back to back seasons. With a bowl game appearance this year, Fresno State would play in its 31st bowl game.

With a win on Saturday, Fresno State would clinch the West Division title and secure its spot in the Mountain West Championship game. The championship is set to be played on Saturday, Dec. 3. The game will be broadcast on FOX.

Fresno State has scored in 17 of its last 19 offensive drives, dating back to its Oct. 29 game against San Diego State.

Two Bulldogs are nearing the 1,000 yard mark in their respective statistical categories. Senior running back Jordan Mims has 872 yards rushing this season. Mims is averaging 87.2 yards per game this season, and has four 100-yard rushing games this season. Senior wide receiver Jalen Moreno-Cropper has 828 yards receiving on the year. Moreno-Cropper is averaging 82.8 yards receiving this year, and has had two 100-yard receiving games on the year.

Moreno-Cropper is one of 20 players from around the FBS to have active streaks of more than 25 games with a reception. Moreno-Cropper has caught a pass in 33-straight games, a streak that is third all-time in Fresno State history, having passed Jamire Jordan (2015-17), Davante Adams (2012-13) and Jalen Saunders (2010-11) who sat at 26 games with a reception. Moreno-Cropper is just one game shy of tying Henry Ellard (1979-82) for a streak of 34-straight games.

There is a lot to be said about the career of senior defensive end David Perales. In just his third season as a Bulldog, Perales has surely become one of the best defensive lineman in Fresno State history. The senior Bulldog has totaled 111 tackles, 35.5 tackles for loss, 20.5 sacks, and eight forced fumbles in his career (2020-pres.). Among all active FBS players, Perales is a leader when it comes to career numbers. He is second in the FBS in forced fumbles per game (0.28) and sacks per game (0.72). He ranks fourth among active FBS players in tackles for loss per game (1.19) and forced fumbles (8).

Perales leads the Mountain West and is No. 3 in the FBS in sacks. He ranks third in the MW and 18th in the FBS in tackles for loss this season. The Valley native has had at least 1.0 sacks in three-straight games, and has tallied at least 1.0 TFL in five-straight games.

Fresno State has 12 players who have gotten to opposing QBs this season. Fresno State is one of 14 schools from around the FBS with 12 or more players with at least 1.0 sack on the season.

Fresno State has 25 players on its roster who have earned their undergraduate degrees. Sixteen of those 25 earned their degree from Fresno State, while the remaining nine earned theirs at a former stop.
