Three 'Dogs post double-doubles in 94-83 win over Prairie View A&M

FRESNO, Calif. – Scoring a season-high 94 points, Fresno State topped Prairie View A&M 94-83 on Wednesday night at the Save Mart Center. Three Bulldogs ended the night with double-doubles.

In his third game back from a knee injury last January, Mor Seck led all scorers with a career-high 18 points to go with 12 rebounds. Elijah Price (16 points, 13 rebounds) and Mykell Robinson (15 points, 10 rebounds) posted the first double-doubles of their Division I careers. Robinson also had a career-high eight assists.

Wednesday's game was the first of three for the Bulldogs in the Acrisure Holiday Invitational. The 'Dogs will finish the event in Palm Desert, Calif., at the Acrisure Arena with games on Tuesday (Washington State) and Wednesday (TBD).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Fresno State jumped out to an early 10-point lead five minutes into the game following a 9-0 run came from three straight drives from Mykell Robinson and a triple from Jalen Weaver. The lead hung just under 10 for much of the first half until the 'Dogs exploded late.

The Bulldogs got going in the final three minutes of the half, turning defensive rebounds into offense. Mor Seck started it with a dunk, and in the middle of it was the first points of Brian Amuneke's career, a 3 from the top of the key.

The late run gave the Bulldogs a 53-36 lead heading into the locker room.

A quick layup from Seck out the break put the 'Dogs up 19 but the advantage didn't last. After two minutes had passed, Prairie View A&M hit a 13-3 run in two-and-a-half minutes to pull the game to 62-55 with 14:16 on the clock.

Fresno State extended its lead back up to 12 through an 11-4 stretch with just over 10 minutes to play. A cold spell ensued though as the 'Dogs missed on their next eight attempts from the field that allowed the Panthers back into the game. The visitors pulled within five at 75-70 with 6:31 remaining in the game.

Fresno State managed to keep the Panthers at bay the rest of the way with six different Bulldogs scoring in the last six minutes. A triple from Jasir Tremble, his second of the night, with 1:15 to play started a seven 7-0 run that put the game out of reach.
