FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State women's basketball continues the home stand excitement at the Save Mart Center on Monday night to host the UC Riverside Highlanders at 6 p.m. PT. Monday's game will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.

Monday night's game theme is Salute to Service in honor of Veterans Day. All active military and veterans will receive free admission to the game

Both teams enter the week with a 1-1 record

Fresno State will meet UCR for the 14th time and sixth time in Fresno

Fresno State suffers their first home loss to Santa Clara since 2001

SALUTE TO SERVICE

In honor of Veterans Day, Monday nights theme of the game is Salute to Service. A few Bulldogs have personal connections to the military.

Mia's parents served in the Royal Australian Navy and her grandfather in the Royal Australian Air Force. Avery Watkins' grandfather and great uncle served in the United States Air Force. Danae's grandpa served in the Navy.

ABOUT THE MATCH UP

Fresno State and UC Riverside will meet for the 14th time in program history and the sixth time in Fresno. Fresno State leads the all-time meetings 11-3 and home meetings 5-1.

Highlanders come into the match up on a two game win streak seeing wins in both Fresno and Riverside. The last Fresno win came in Dec. of 2014 with a double digit win for the Bulldogs at the Save Mart Center. Before 2015, Fresno State rode a ten game win streak before seeing their first loss since 1973.

DOUBLE IT AND PASS IT ON

Mia Jacobs earns her second double-double of the season, marking the first set of back-to-back double-doubles in her career. Against Santa Clara, Jacobs hoisted a 25 piece game with 10 rebounds.

Last season Jacobs would teeter on the edge of double-doubles but sat shy of just one or two rebounds. Just eight more points for Jacobs in Monday night's game would see her 500th point in a Bulldog uniform, with 285 points guaranteeing her a spot in the 1,000 point club.

SCOUTING UC RIVERSIDE

Brad Langston enters his fifth season on staff in 2024-25 and second as interim head coach after leading UC Riverside to a 12-game turnaround last season - the best in program history - and its first postseason appearance since 2015-16.

UCR opened the season with a loss to Santa Clara, 60-73 & a win against Whittier, 84-45

Following the Bulldogs, UCR will face fellow MW opponent Boise State on Nov. 14

Shelly Duchemin is UCR's scoring leader with 27 points over the course of the week

Last season was one for the Highlanders with a Big West Conference Championship Quarterfinals appearance and a opening round WNIT appearance, UCR held a 18-14, 13-7 BW record

Highlanders see the return of Ester Matarranz who saw seven starts last season and Zoe Tillery with 15 starts

Transfer Seneca Hackley has seen two starts with UCR after transferring from Northern Colorado
