Gray named Top 25 Cape Cod Prospect by Baseball America

WAREHAM, Mass. – As the summer ball season came to a close for the historic Cape Cod Baseball League, Diamond 'Dog third baseman Murf Gray was included in Baseball America's Top 25 Cape Cod Prospects at number six.

After a championship season with the Bulldogs, Gray headed to Massachusetts to play for the Wareham Gatemen. Gray is preceded by Gatemen alumni who have made their mark in the MLB as World Series champions, All-Stars, Cy Young Award winners and Olympic gold medalists. The Cape Cod League has over 370 alumni active in the MLB, most notably former Diamond 'Dog Aaron Judge and former Mountain West opponent Paul Skenes.

In time "Guarding the Gate" in Wareham, Gray started in 31 games at third base, and four as the designated hitter. Gray led the Gatemen in six stat categories: batting average (.329), at-bats (140), home runs (5), runs batted in (27), doubles (9) and hits (46). Baseball America also reports that Gray had an in-zone contact rate of an impressive 93%.

The Madera native is returning to the Fresno State roster for his junior year in 2025.
