Diouf signs with Bulldogs

FRESNO, Calif. –Makhan Diouf became the ninth addition to the Fresno State men's basketball program this offseason as Head Coach Vance Walberg continues to build his roster ahead of the 2024-25 season.

A native of Dakar, Senegal, Diouf played the past two seasons at Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Ariz., after moving to the States. The 6-foot-11, 215-pound forward averaged 7.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game as a junior in 2023, helping the Bears to a 21-10 record.

"Makhan has all the tools to be a special player here at Fresno State," Walberg said. "He's 6-11 but has big time ability for his age to dribble, pass and shoot. He has super high upside to his game. We've already talked with him about things he can continue to keep improving on and he's a kid that loves basketball and wants to keep developing so we know he will work his butt off to be the best version of himself. We are more than happy to have him here!"

Diouf moved to Arizona from France where he played for three seasons. In his last season there, he spent time in Savoie with Aix Maurienne. As a 17-year-old playing in a U21 league, he averaged 10.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.2 block per outing.

ESPN rates Diouf as a four-star prospect with an 82 grade. 247Sports has him as a four-star with an 88 grade. His composite score of 0.9441 has Diouf ranked as the No. 119 prospect in the class of 2024, the fourth-best composite score for a Bulldog signee since 2004.
