'Dogs lead conference with 23 Academic All-Big 12 selections

IRVING, Texas – The Fresno State equestrian team led the Big 12 Conference with 23 Academic All-Big 12 selections for the 2023-24 season. The Bulldogs earned 20 first team nods, and three to the second team.

Sixty-six total equestrian student-athletes were recognized this term as the Bulldogs led with their 23. Baylor and Oklahoma State both earned 16, and TCU had 11.

Fresno State had the most selections among the equestrian programs in the conference, but the Bulldogs also had the second-most among all winter sports in the release.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
