Four 'Dogs named CSC Academic All-District Team

FRESNO, Calif. – Four Fresno State track & field student-athletes were named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday. Two-time selections Kaja Bins and Amelia DiPaola were joined by Madison Hutton and Harriette Mortlock.

Bins, a graduate in psychology, earned a pair of Mountain West medals in the multi-events this year, placing second in the heptathlon (5,238 points) and third in the pentathlon (3,715 points). She ranks No. 3 in the pentathlon and No. 5 in the heptathlon at Fresno State.

DiPaola, a graduate in animal science-pre veterinary, captured the second medal of her career this year, placing third in the hammer at the MW Outdoor Championships. She reached the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the first time, earning honorable mention All-America accolades. She ranks No. 5 all-time at Fresno State in the hammer (62.89m/206-4).

Hutton, a kinesiology-exercise science major, captured gold at the MW Indoor Championships in the pentathlon with 3,982 points. She finished fourth outdoors in the heptathlon (5,199 points). The junior ranks No. 2 in the pentathlon and No. 3 in the heptathlon at Fresno State.

Mortlock, a pre-health major, finished runner-up in the javelin at the MW Outdoor Championships with a then-personal best 50.06m/164-3. The sophomore earned honorable mention All-America at the NCAA Outdoor Championships after qualifying with a toss of 52.11m/170-11 at the NCAA West First Round, the No. 3 mark in program history.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA and have ranked in the Top 50 in an event in their region on the TFRRS descending order list.
