Piferi named ITA Most Improved Player

TEMPE, Ariz.- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced the 2024 ITA Division I Women's Regional Award recipients. Every year the ITA recognizes coaches and players for their excellence on the court and in their communities throughout the season.

The Division I Playing Awards include: Wilson ITA Coach of the Year, ITA Assistant Coach of the Year, Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship, ITA Cissie Leary Sportsmanship, ITA Rookie of the Year, ITA Player to Watch, ITA Most Improved Senior, ITA Senior Player of the Year, and ITA Community Service Award.

Carolina Piferi was named ITA Most Improved Player for the Northwest Region. Piferi wraps up her collegiate career on a high note with a All-MW Singles nod, MW Player of the Week honor (Feb. 27), owning 19 singles wins to the season on a ten match win streak and went undefeated in singles conference play. Piferi made an impact during her time wearing a Bulldog uniform; being a part of the 2022 regular season championship team, earning 20 wins in her last three seasons, MW academic honors and has been a strong top three singles player.
