'Dogs descend on Fayetteville for NCAA West First Round

FRESNO, Calif. – Sending its most women in program history to the postseason, Fresno State will begin competition on Thursday at the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West First Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas on May 23-25. The Bulldogs will have 12 athletes in the field competing in 15 events, all seeking a spot in the NCAA Outdoor Championships set for June 5-8 in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field.

Athletes who rank among the Top 48 in their respective event in the west region earn berths into the NCAA West First Rounds. The best 24 relay times also advance to NCAA First Rounds. Athletes finishing within the Top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 5-8. The same standard is used for the NCAA East First Rounds, which is being held in Lexington, Kentucky.
