'Dogs in third after round one

CRESWELL, Ore. – The Fresno State men's golf team is tied for third place after day one of the Mountain West Championship at Emerald Valley Golf Club.

No. 32 San Diego State leads the field at 6-under 282, Colorado State is in second at 4-under 284, Fresno State is tied with Nevada, and New Mexico rounds out the top five at 2-under 286.

Matthew Sutherland was the low Bulldog on the day, scoring a 4-under 68. Sutherland is tied for third place.

Mason Benbrook also landed in the Top 10 after shooting 2-under to tie for seventh. Ryan Firpo was 1-over, while Matthew Manganello and Joseph Lloyd were both 2-over in the first round.

Fresno State is paired with San Diego State and Colorado State for the second round. Tee times start at 10:40 a.m. PT for the Bulldogs tomorrow.
