FRESNO, Calif. — The Fresno State men's golf team will travel to compete in the Lamkin Invitational co-hosted by San Diego State and San Diego, March 4-5 at the historic San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif.
The 16-team field will play two 18-hole rounds on Monday and a single round Tuesday on the par-72, 7,033-yard course, each day will begin with a 7:30 a.m. PT shotgun start.
THE FIELD
Eight of the 16 teams are ranked within the top-50 of the latest NCAA computer rankings, including No. 48 Fresno State. Others in the top-50 include No. 4 Washington, No. 13 Georgia Tech, No. 19 New Mexico, No. 29 LSU, No. 41 LMU, No. 31 San Diego State and No. 43 Brigham Young. The Bulldogs will also see Cal Poly, Colorado, Colorado State, Hawai'i, Saint Mary's, San Diego, Santa Clara and Wyoming.
Fresno State will be paired with New Mexico Georgia Tech and LMU.

LAST TIME OUT
he Fresno State golf team finished the three-day John Burns Intercollegiate at the Ocean Course at Hokuala tied for 10thplace, after carding a 7-over 872.
Matthew Sutherland posted his best round of the tournament, scoring a 1-under 70 in the final round. With the help of five birdies on Saturday, he climbed up seven places to finish tied for eighth with an overall score of 4-under 212.
FALL HIGHLIGHTS
Fresno State had three Top 5 finishes.
Fresno State scored a program-low one-round low score of 263 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, surpassing the previous low of 266.
Matthew Manganello tied the program record for lowest round vs. par with a 9-under 62 at the Nick WatneyInvitational.
Joseph Lloyd tied the program record for lowest 54-hole record versus par with a 17-under 196 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
Matthew Sutherland had three Top 5 tournament finishes.
MANGANELLO'S MONSTER ROUND
Senior Matthew Manganello had a career-low round at the Nick Watney Invitational recording a 9-under 62, tying the program record for lowest round vs. par. He had seven birdies and one eagle in the third round.
Manganello finished the tournament with a team-best 10-under 203, tying his career-low. He finished sixth overall in the tournament.
IT WAS A SUTHERLAND SUMMER
Matthew Sutherland had an eventful summer bringing some hardware back to the Valley. The senior won the Sacramento City Amateur and the 99th California State Fair Amateur.
Sutherland qualified for the U.S. Amateur for the second consecutive year, where he became the first Bulldog to advance to the final 16 since 2009.
