Pace, Pipion close split weekend with top marks for 'Dogs

SEATTLE – Two weeks after setting the program's indoor record in the triple jump, Rachela Pace nearly made it 2-for-2 on Saturday at the UW Invitational. In the long jump, the junior moved up to No. 2 all-time at Fresno State.

With two jumps narrowly over six meters, the first two of her career, the junior left her best for last. With first place in the event already in hand, Pace recorded a jump of 6.31m/20-8.5 on her final attempt.

In the shot put, the Bulldogs went 2-4-6 with Jocelynn Budwig leading the crew with a toss of 14.41m/55-2.75. Morgan Johnson (13.98m/45-10.5) and Amelia DiPaola (13.81m/45-5.5) finished fourth and sixth, respectively.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –Ceonna Pipion closed out the weekend at the New Mexico Team Open turning in the program's No. 3 time 400 meters.

Finishing fifth in a strong field, Pipion clocked a time of 54.24. The senior's previous indoor best entering the meet stood at 55.12.

Pipion returned to the track in the final event of the day, joining her teammates in the 4x400 relay. Alongside Iyanna Ross, Chloe Sharp and Miana Giovannini, the group finished third with a time of 3:41.49, their fastest time of the season.
