SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Fresno State Volleyball team has secured its 15th win of the season with a 3-1 victory over the San Diego State Aztecs on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Fresno State completed a season sweep over the Aztecs, having previously defeated San Diego State 3-2 at the Save Mart Center on October 12.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening set of the match was a nail biter from start to finish with the highest lead sitting at only three points. The Bulldogs held the lead for a majority of the set before briefly falling behind two points to the Aztecs. Kills from Addison Haluska, Jenna Legualt and Kasey Purry pushed the 'Dogs back into the lead and to a 27-25 win in the match opener.
San Diego State had a dominant performance in the second set and defeated the Bulldogs 25-15, with only two more kills than the 'Dogs in the set.
Fresno State had a wave of offensive energy hit to start the third set, taking a 22-15 lead over the Aztecs. SDSU went on a 7-1 run to catch up to the Bulldogs and tie the game at 24-24. Fresno State added six kills to the board to put them over the edge to win the set 31-29.

The 'Dogs took an early lead over the Aztecs in the fourth set and held on to it for the remainder of the match, outhitting SDSU .393 to .143. With 13 kills, the Bulldogs claimed a 25-20 win in the set and 3-1 overall victory.
NOTES
Addison Haluksa led the pack with 14 kills on the afternoon, closely followed by Grace Doyle and Jenna Legault, each with 13 apiece.
Fresno State had 61 kills on the night, a season-high for the squad.
The 'Dogs also had a .352 attack percentage, the second-highest of the year.
