Bulldogs best Wolf Pack, 3-1

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State volleyball team completed a regular season sweep over Nevada after defeating the Wolf Pack 3-1 on Tuesday night in the Save Mart Center.

Fresno State previously defeated Nevada this season in a 3-2 victory in Reno on September 9, 2023.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bulldogs had a slow start to the match as they lost the first five straight points to the Pack. Fresno State pulled off a come-from-behind win in the first set after tying it up 12-12 and never letting go of the lead until winning the set 25-22.

The Dogs and the Wolf Pack started the second set in a knotted up through five until Fresno State snagged a 6-5 lead and held on to it through the set. The Bulldogs tallied 13 kills on the set with 10 block assists in the 25-22 set two victory.

The Wolf Pack bounced back in the third set, pulling ahead from the start and staying relentless until winning the set 25-18.

Fresno State was ready to wrap up in the fourth and final set as they quickly took an 8-4 lead over the Wolf Pack to trigger a time-out from Nevada. After the break, the Bulldogs had six kills to bring the score up to 16-7, causing Nevada to exhaust its final time out of the set. Fresno State wrapped up the match with five more kills to give them a final score of 25-13 and 3-1 overall.

NOTES

Fresno State is now on a five-game winning streak, the program's longest since 2019.
