Manganello three shots back with final round on Sunday

TUCSON, ARIZ. – Following a 1-under par 71 on Saturday, Fresno State's Matthew Manganello is three off the lead with 18 holes to play at the 2023 Mountain West Championships. The junior knocked in four birdies but closed his second round with back-to-back bogeys to move back into a tie for eighth.

One of five teams to finish over par for the day, Fresno State slipped to seventh after a 2-over par 290. The Bulldogs sit in seventh.

While Manganello moved to 7-under par for the tournament, his opponents who he entered Saturday tied with atop the leaderboard both sit one shot back of the Bulldog in 10th after even par rounds. The trio was surpassed by seven golfers who shot between 3-7 strokes under par on the day.

Also carding a 71 with a steady round for the 'Dogs, Joseph Lloyd moved up two spots to 16th at 3-under par.

Fresno State tees off its final round tomorrow at 8:20 a.m. PT.
