LOGAN, Utah – The No. 72-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team lost two tightly contested matches over the weekend with both matches against Boise State and Utah State coming down to the wire.
On Friday, Fresno State lost 4-3 to Boise State. The 'Dogs dropped the doubles point, but Pang Jittakoat claimed a point at the top position. Fresno State followed up with wins from Carolina Piferi (No. 4) and Carlotta Nonnis Marzano (No. 6).
On Saturday, Fresno State won the doubles point against Utah State, winning at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Pang Jittakoat won at the top singles position, finishing Mountain West regular-season play with a perfect 8-0 record.
Carolina Piferi also won at the No. 4 position to improve to 10-4 this season when playing at the No. 4 position. However, the 'Dogs came up short against Utah State losing 4-3.
