The Diamond 'Dogs welcome Nevada to Fresno this weekend for their first Mountain West home series of the season.

The 'Dogs are coming off a 5-4 win at home over Pacific on Tuesday to improve to 5-1 at home this season.

The Bulldogs opened MW play at San Jose State last weekend dropping a pair of games to the Spartans.

Fresno State won four of its six games over Nevada last season winning a pair of contests at both home and on the road.

The 'Dogs lead the MW and rank 28th nationally in ERA (3.53) and also lead the MW and rank 30th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.00).

Preseason All-MW selection Ixan Henderson leads the Mountain West with 20 strikeouts and ranks third in the MW in opposing batting average (.196).

Junior Tommy Hopfe leads the 'Dogs hitting .311 from the plate with a team-leading 14 hits with seven extra-base knocks and leads the team with seven RBI.

A look at the Nevada Wolf Pack

Nevada is off to a 7-5 start to the season coming into this weekend's series riding a four-game winning streak after winning all three games at home over Hofstra last weekend and a 3-2 win at USC on Wednesday.

The Wolf Pack were picked to finish fifth in the MW preseason poll coming off a 29-26 overall record in 2022 and a second-place finish in the MW.

Nevada is hitting .269 from the plate as a team to rank fourth in the MW and are averaging 6.0 runs per game.

Nolan Wilson leads the Wolf Pack hitting .364 from the dish with 16 hits, including four doubles, a triple and two home runs, while slugging .636 and has eight RBI.

On the mound, the Wolf Pack have a 5.12 ERA and a 2.30 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Preseason All-MW selection Kade Morris is Nevada's top pitcher with a 1-0 mark with a 2.89 ERA in 18.2 innings of work and has struck out 19 while holding opponents to a .261 average.

Fellow right-handers Jason Doktorczyk and Casey Burfield are the Wolf Pack's other two starters with Burfield sitting 2-0 on the season.

'Dogs off to hot start at home

The Bulldogs are off to a 5-1 start at home for the second season in a row after also starting 2022 with a 5-1 mark at home.

Hopfe shining both at the plate and on the mound

While leading the team offensively hitting .311 making starts in all 11 games, Hopfe has also been solid on the mound in the early season converting three saves in four appearances and has six strikeouts in five innings.

Arreola off to a stellar start

In five relief appearances, the redshirt freshman from San Diego has tossed 8.2 innings allowing three hits, one earned run and struck out nine while walking zero and holding opponents to a .107 average.

New 'Dogs in action

The Bulldogs welcome 18 newcomers to the team this season with seven transfers and 11 freshmen set to make their debuts at Fresno State.
