ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Fresno State track & field team picked up three Top 10 results on Friday against tough competition at the Don Kirby Invitational. Jackson led the Bulldogs with a fifth-place finish in the weight throw while Ceonna Pipion put up an all-time Top 5 time at Fresno State in the 200 meters.
Jackson increased her mark in the weight four the fourth-straight meet this winter as she gets ready for the Mountain West championships. The sophomore's top throw came in at 19.52m/64-0.5, just four centimeters shy of her personal best which she set at last year's conference meet.
In the high jump, Kaitlynn Perez finished eighth with a clearance 1.57m/5-1.75.
Like Jackson, Pipion bettered her season mark in the 200 meters for the fourth consecutive meet while finishing ninth overall. Though the junior was just outside the program's Top 5 a week ago at 24.33, she jumped to third all-time on Friday, clocking a time 24.20 to move ahead of Breeauna Thompson's 24.22.
The Bulldogs will wrap-up the meet tomorrow afternoon.
