SPOKANE, Wash. – In the first pentathlon of the season for Fresno State, sophomore Madison Hutton picked up a third-place finish on Thursday at the WSU Open & Combined Events at The Podium. Senior Kaja Bins was three spots back of her Bulldog teammate in sixth.
After placing sixth in the 100-meter hurdles, Hutton moved up to third with a personal best 1.69m/5-6.5 in the high jump. She would remain in the Top 3 throughout the competition, finishing with 3,759 points, 12 shy of her career mark. With 3,564 points, Bins ended the day 29 points off of personal best.
Placing 18th, Kaitlynn Perez bettered her career mark by 107 points, finishing with 3,304 points.
