Bulldogs announce additions to Class of 2023

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head coach Jeff Tedford announced two signees, and six mid-year additions, for the 2023 class on Wednesday.

2023 Signing Class Notes

Fresno State completed its 2023 signing class on Wednesday, bringing the class to 24 total additions.

Fresno State added eight new faces to its 2023 class in the February signing period.

The Bulldogs added two true signees to the class on Wednesday - Ah'Marion Ashley and Ezra Christensen. The remaining six in Wednesday's announcement are mid-year additions who began workouts with the team in January.

In total, the class is made up of 14 offensive players and 10 defensive players.

18 additions come from the State of California, with three from the Central Valley.

13 of Fresno State's 24 new faces for the 2023 season come to the Valley with prior college football experience. Four players have Division I experience.

Of the new additions, two have All-State honor; 10 have All-League honors.

Two incoming freshmen were recognized with "player of the year" honors as Mordecai Hines (DL) was the Golden League Lineman of the Year and Jayden Mandal (QB) was the TRAC Football Player of the Year.

Fresno State had three additions to each the wide receiver room, the running back room, the tight end room and the offensive line room in the 2023 additions.

The position group with the most additions was defensive line with four.

Fresno State also adds four new defensive backs - three safeties and a corner.

A bulk of Wednesday's announcement comes from the announcement of 15 mid-year additions in Artis Cole (WR), Edward Fonua (OL), Tim Grear Jr. (WR), Mikey Keene (QB), Jayden Mandal (QB), Damien Moore (RB), Hayden Pulis (OL), Antoine Sullivan (WR), Jake Tarwater (TE), Dean Clark (DB), Dupre Mendoza (DL) and Tuasivi Nomura (LB).

Grear Jr., Keene, Mandal, Pulis, Tarwater and Mendoza were all signees in the early signing period in December.

Of the 15 mid-year additions, four are Division I transfers, seven are junior college additions and one is a high school early enrollee.

Fresno State also has three mid-year walk-on players that are training with the team in Tyler Carr (TE), Camryn Bracha (DB) and Landon Ogles (P).
